26 Jun BIAFD to begin work with new Secretariat provider
BIAFD is pleased to announce the appointment of The Association Management Company (The AMC) as its new Secretariat. The AMC specialises in working with trade associations, supporting members and helping volunteers fulfil their duties.
Sarka Thomson, who has been working with The AMC for eight years, will be the main point of contact for BIAFD members. Sarka will be responsible for membership enquiries, new member applications and recruitment, quarterly surveys, accounts and meeting bookings.
Joe Chalk, The AMC Director, will work alongside Sarka and will primarily focus on supporting the admin committee with the strategy and direction of the association.
Former Secretary and Director of BIAFD, Phil Matten, will continue his work with the association as a policy adviser and will carry on supporting members with industry updates and technical advice. Phil has helped to make BIAFD what it is today and his input over the last 20 years has been truly invaluable. BIAFD would like to extend its sincere thanks to Phil for his efforts as Secretary.
Sarka said: “We’re delighted to be working with BIAFD. Both Joe and I have already met several members which has given us a good insight into the industry.
“We’ve been fortunate enough to have the excellent support of Phil, BIAFD Chairman Ian Doherty, and the rest of the Admin Committee during the handover period for which we are very grateful.”
Ian Doherty said: “Those in attendance at the spring meeting will know that the Admin Committee has been preparing for this transition for a number of months.
“The time has now come for Sarka and Joe to handle the operations, and, having been involved with the handover, I have every confidence there will be a continuation of Phil’s excellent work.”
